If you're an artist living in the Victoria area, consider being a part of Artishow. We welcome artists to join us at our weekend plein air events and residencies . Mingle and chat with the public as they view the creative process in action. Acrylics, oils, watercolors - even carving, claywork, assemblage - show us your work! Consider sponsoring an Artishow Residency. Local artists are given a prominant location and work on-site; your guests have the opportunity to talk with the artists about their inspiration and process. Artists in Residence
Artishow's Artists in Residence program allows artists and local hotels to collaborate and present the exciting world of artistic creativity. Victoria's finest downdown hotels open their lobbies to some of the most talented visual artists the city has to offer for your viewing pleasure. Experience artists in action every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Every month from May to October you will find a new artists to appreciate at the following hotels.

Plein Air Events

Artishow brings you plein air events every Sunday June 30th through September 1st.
Come down to the front lawn of the Fairmont Empress Hotel, 721 Government street and watching artists being artsy! Plein Air events allow the public to see artists in the act of creation. This is FREE and EVERYONE IS WELCOME. If you've never watched paint dry before, now's your chance!

About Artishow Victoria
The fine arts are coming to life in downtown Victoria!
Mission Statement
To make art, in all its forms, open to everyone in accessible venues allowing exposure of the art's benefits and values to the individual and to the greater community without it being intimidating or elitist.
The Process
A rotation of artists, on a monthly or agreed upon schedule will be placed strategically in designated hotels showcasing their works and craft supplying ongoing artistic interaction with hotel guests and the public.
Benefits and Values
To expose the inherent benefits that art offers including aesthetic and inspirational values for a sense of connection, validation and well being in the individual, the local and global community
To help promote Victoria as a destination of culture and art.
To instill in Victorians a sense of pride that our city is capable of welcoming and presenting artists from all cultures and media to the public in an innovative educational and aesthetic forum.
Artishow’s future plan is to continue Artists in Residence programs at hotels throughout the year and offer weekend outdoor visual art events at all of the participating hotels starting the end of June and continuing until the end of September
Artishow endeavors to have Victoria known as “City of Artists” bringing to light the creativity and fine artistic talent that will only enhance our naturally beautiful city.
